Sure, our area from Palm Beach to Jupiter Island has picturesque beaches, but did you know it’s a great place to enjoy nature? Discover nature and “old Florida” at Jupiter’s Riverbend Park, a tropical 666-acre park split by the Loxahatchee River, with hiking, biking, and horse trails, kayaking, canoeing, and picnicking. Located on Indiantown Road, Riverbend Park is a natural oasis that offers something for everyone.
Whether you’re on foot, on two wheels, atop a horse, or aboard a kayak or canoe, you can immerse yourself in nature among quaint bridges, cypress-lined ponds, shady pines, magnificent old oak trees, a historic battlefield, flocks of wild turkeys and peacocks (yes, peacocks!) And what’s one of the best features about Riverbend Park? It’s easily accessible from Jupiter and it’s free. (yes, free!)
Hiking Trails
Riverbend Park is an ideal destination for hikers who want a taste of the wilds of Southwest Florida without getting their feet wet. More than 15 miles of interconnected trails and roads make up the trail network. The hiking trails are engineered, broad walkways of compacted limestone. Signage and kiosks make it nearly impossible to get lost.
Biking Trails
Rent a beach cruiser and pedal the 15 miles of compacted shell trails, explore the historic sites, and traverse the beautiful along the Loxahatchee River. Bike over hard gravel, over boardwalks and bridges, and along the river for the ultimate scenic ride.
Horse Trails
Enjoy 7 miles of equestrian trails accessible from Jupiter Farms Road. The trail extension is open from sunrise to sunset.
River Trails
What better way to relax, and enjoy the beauty of nature? Jump in a kayak or canoe and enjoy 5 miles of enjoyment.
Historic Battlefield
This historic park was once the site of Seminole War battles and is home to ancient Indian middens and other artifacts. The park is indeed a jewel among the county’s facilities and hosts pioneer events that maintain a connection to our past.
Picnics
There are many places to enjoy a picnic in the park. Picnic pavilions, including grills and tables are available on a first come, first served basis.
