Notes from Anita: Market Update

Hello from South Florida. This is my favorite time of the year, with warm comfortable weather and many of my friends returning from their Northern summer homes. Plus I love Thanksgiving -- my absolute favorite wintertime holiday! Gathering for the holiday brings me great joy, and I am quite grateful for the many wonderful people who surround me every day and the incredible blessings this life has afforded me year after year. As we start toward the wind down of 2024, I sincerely wish you many moments of peace and gratitude for a year that has certainly kept us on our toes!

2024 was a year for the books in real estate as well! Here is South Florida, we watched National news reports of a declining market and wondered which markets they were talking about? Our local markets seem to be staying high, and while they have slowed a smidgeon over the past few months, signs of it staying slow are fading. Markets tend to stall when there is uncertainty...like a close Presidential election. But with the election this week, forecasts of another (and possibly two) Federal interest rate cuts on the horizon, and an increase of inventory, I foresee a healthy winter real estate market here in Palm Beach County.
