Beachin’ It
Ever been to the beach on New Year’s? In the Palm Beaches, it’s a great way to say goodbye to the year and welcome a new one and, of course, you have options! Take in the peaceful natural surroundings of Singer Island or walk along the Juno Beach Pier to capture the picturesque six-mile stretch of Juno Beach. Dog lovers can bring their furry companions to Jupiter Beach, as dogs are welcomed!
A must see spectacle on West Palm Beach’s downtown waterfront is Sandi Land with a light show and Christmas tree made out of sand that stands a staggering 35 feet tall. It’s located at 100 N. Clematis Street with a light show starting at 6:15pm every night until New Year’s!
Shopping/Spas
Locals, if you haven’t gone to the new West Palm Beach GreenMarket yet, it’s a must! With over 80 vendors providing fresh produce, exotic flowers, baked goods and much more, it’s a perfect way to start your morning every Saturday!
And what’s not to love about CityPlace located at 700 Rosemary Avenue in West Palm Beach? This is a year-round beautiful outdoor mall where you’ll find all your favorite stores, elegant spas, and fun restaurants and bars. But during the holidays, it’s turned into a winter wonderland. Enjoy live music, holiday train rides, nightly snowfall, and an outdoor ice skating rink! There’s also Chanukah Family Fun Fest on December 27 from 4pm-8pm. You can literally spend an entire day here.
Other great shopping plazas is Downtown at the Gardens, The Gardens Mall, and PGA Commons. A variety of fantastic shops and restaurants, beautiful settings, and holiday fun, including the “Noon Year’s Eve” celebration at Downtown at the Gardens and Santa’s Enchanted Garden at The Gardens Mall.

After you’ve worked up an appetite from world-class shopping in the Palm Beaches, you won’t have to drive anywhere to find a nice place to eat. If you’re a local, you most likely know about the ever-changing shows at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on 701 Okeechobee Blvd in West Palm Beach. Every week there is something new and they’re kicking off the New Year with a classic - Dirty Dancing!
Harbourside Place in Jupiter is another popular attraction with Palm Beach area residents. It’s located on a beautiful waterfront setting and there’s always an event happening every night. Get into the holiday spirit by listening to a choir sing-off, on December 16, or watching the hysterical holiday comedy Elf, on December 23, at the Harbourside Place Amphitheater.
Don’t miss the 10-year anniversary of Festival of the Trees at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens in Downtown West Palm Beach. It’s not only a dazzling sight but an educational one too.
