May is Heating Up in Palm Beach County: Local Events That Are Worth Checking Out

 

 

 

May-August

 

Batter up! Get ready for some exciting baseball in Jupiter! From April-September, you can watch all the baseball action at South Florida’s premier sports facility. Located in Abacoa in Jupiter, Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium was built in 1998 and is comprised of twelve major league practice fields in addition to the main stadium.

 

The complex also includes two 32,000 square foot clubhouses with office space, two covered batting tunnels, four outdoor batting structures and six sets of outdoor pitching mounds.

 

And, Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is the only stadium in the country to host four minor league teams:

Don’t miss South Florida's premier music festival where music meets the waterfront featuring over 50 bands on 3 stages. And there’s more… including  two floating bars, delicious food, VIP experiences, eye-catching art, delectable eats, floating bars and a fireworks show to close the weekend.

 

SunFest is set up along Flagler Drive from Banyan Boulevard to Lakeview Drive. Shows start at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and noon on Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the three stages, festival grounds include the Art District, where you can shop local artists’ work and watch live demonstrations. But the main draw is definitely the live music, featuring a mix of genres including rock ‘n’ roll, funk, indie rock, hip-hop, country and reggae.

The Farmers Market by Farriss Farm at Grandview Public Market is located at 1401 Clare Ave., West Palm Beach.

 

 

The market features organic fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, meats, fish and eggs from small regional farmers and fishmongers. Other products include regional artisan specialties such as breads, spices and varieties of local honey.

The World Famous West Palm Beach Jerk and Caribbean Culture Festival is celebrating its 16th year on May 27, 2019 at The South Florida Fairground! Presented by Full-A-VYBEZ Inc., this annual event welcomes 6,000+ patrons annually and unlike many festival events, The World Famous West Palm Beach Jerk and Caribbean Culture Festival is a family-centered, community -focused event, creating a truly unique atmosphere and experience for festival-goers. 

This year’s festival will include curated food vendors, selling authentic and creative culinary creations like succulent jerk lobster, spicy jerk shrimp, the ever-popular jerk ice cream, and much more. In addition to a kidz zone complete with carnival rides, face painting, and games. Access to curated artisan vendors and live performances from Maxi Priest, Romain Virgo, and I-Octane will also be included with the price of admission.
