Yes, it’s that time of year!
Although we are fortunate to experience spring-like weather almost year round, spring has indeed sprung and it’s time to do some spring cleaning. Here are some tips to make it a little easier:
Easily Clean Blinds
With the right equipment, it can be super easy to get that pesky dust off your blinds. Just wrap two microfiber towels around a pair of tongs, then wipe across each slat.
Use the Dishwasher for Other Items
Think the dishwasher is just for dishes? Think again! In fact, it can be used to clean lots of other items — from sponges to plastic toys to pet dishes to plastic hairbrushes. It makes it a lot easier than hand washing every little item in your house. Just stick the items that need cleaning in, then run the dishwasher while you tend to another room.
Clean the Shower
Mold and mildew sticks, and if you notice some in the shower, you need to grab some booze. While we won't tell if you steal a few sips, you really need it for cleaning. Spray the affected area with vodka, as the acis will cut right through grime. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then clean normally—you'll notice the scrubbing just got a heck of a lot easier.
Microwave
Finally, clean up those pesky tomato stains once and for all. Fill a large microwave-safe bowl with 1 cup of water and a chopped-up lemon, lime, or orange or several tablespoons of vinegar and stick it inside. Turn the appliance on high for several minutes or until the solution boils and the window is steamy, then let it cool for 5 minutes before opening the door. Remove and wipe the inside and outside with a sponge.
Fix Your Fixtures
Whether it's your faucet, showerhead, or even light fixtures, a dryer sheet is the perfect tool to get rid of any gunk and grime. Just use it to polish whatever chrome surface needs a good cleaning and it will look shiny and new in no time.
Laundry Room
To freshen up your washing machine, fill the bleach dispenser with vinegar and run a full cycle with hot water. Clean out your dryer lint trap with your vacuum cleaner’s crevice tool or a dryer lint brush. If it is removable, take it out and wash with warm soapy water. Let dry before replacing it.
