Fun Things to Do in and around Jupiter With Your Kids

Jupiter, Florida is one of the best places to live, work and play on the east coast. Our area is rich in family-friendly and kid-centric activities. Check out some of our favorites. Grab the kids and go!

Climb the Jupiter Lighthouse

Built in 1860, the Jupiter lighthouse has been guiding sailors home for over a century while still shining bright today. Climb to the top and marvel at the splendid views.  Down below, visitors will find attractions in the museum highlighting indigenous history, Spanish exploration, and natural Jupiter.

Watch a Ball Game at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium

Jupiter’s ballpark, Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, is home to the Miami Marlins and St Louis Cardinals during the spring season. And April- September, fans can enjoy minor-league games with the Jupiter Hammerheads and Palm Beach Cardinals.

Visit the Animals at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary has a mission to “Rescue, Rehab, Release, Educate” animals brought into their care. Essentially, the place is a hospital for sick, wild animals and a great spot for kids to explore and learn about different creatures found in the nearby wild.

Watch in Awe at Blowing Rocks Preserve

Jetting from the sandy shores of Jupiter Island is a feature known as Anastasia limestone. It’s the only of its kind and it creates a pretty neat feature: blow holes.

As waves crash along the shore, the porous limestone funnels the wave’s energy through a small opening, thus “blowing” the water upwards from the rocks. It’s an awesome place to visit, hike, and spend a few hours learning about Florida’s natural history.

Paddle the Loxahatchee River at Jonathan Dickinson State Park

The largest State Park in Southeast Florida is the best place to do some paddling. Winding through the park is the mighty Loxahatchee River where you’ll spot everything from turtles, river otters, and manatees. Look out above where ospreys and bald eagles swoop into the water to grasp their prey before nesting into the surrounding cypress trees. You can take a guided tour or launch your own adventure.
